On Sunday 21st November, on the occasion of the 161st Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction, representatives of the Hospices de Beaune, Sotheby’s, the associations benefiting from the sale of the Pièce des Presidents and the heads of the Bourgogne wine industry gathered for a bilingual press conference.
This was an opportunity to discuss the demanding 2021 vintage, the economic situation of the industry, the projects of the Hospices de Beaune financed by the latest auctions, and the arrival of Sotheby’s, which is taking over from Christy’s after 15 years of running the sale.
A particular focus was given to two causes that are close to the hearts of the Presidents of this edition.
