On Sunday 20th November, on the occasion of the 162nd Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction, François Labet, President of the Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB), spoke about the 2022 vintage: The start of the cycle from mid-April, with flowering 15 days ahead of average, the continued heat and drought, the miraculous rains in June and mid-August , the harvest in August which took its time, the quality of the wines and, above all, the volumes hoped for, at 1.750 million hectoliters.
On this occasion, François Labet also gave an update on the carbon neutralisation project for the Bourgogne wine industry (to be voted on in June 2023), and on the future opening of the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne in Mâcon and Chablis (April 2023) and Beaune (May 2023).
